(continued from below)...
I''ve purchased a few of these older gowns on ebay to use as examples and have scanned and photographed the lace and embroidery details. (These vintage gowns cost almost nothing on eBay).
I''m a retired photographer and graphics artist who is now aspiring to be an anthropologist. School is fun when you don''t have to be there and more …

Nice work on the gowns. I particularly like the style and details in the Cortigiana dress. I''m slowly working on wedding gowns in that ridiculously ornate style that was popular in the late 80''s to early 90''s (think Demetrios and Eve of Milady). I find modelling to be straight forward but am challenged by rigging and morphs in Daz3D. I worked in Poser for many more …

Hi

I was just wondering if you still have the V4 Sk8r Gumdrops outfit and Conforming Skates available? I had gotten it a couple years ago but shortly after words my hard drive crashed and I lost a lot of stuff when that happened. I come across the sharecg textures for the outfit and it reminded me that I still had not re-downloaded it. When I tried going to your site it turned out it more …

Bird of Paradise has been fixed. :-) It''s now called Bird of Paradise_Rezip. Hope that solves the problem! I don''t know where the password request came from. Jan

You''re welcome! :-) I''m glad you like the models. Just watch out for the double zips on some of them. I''m in the process of fixing Bird of Paradise but others do have double zip/zips. :-) I didn''t know how to stack and name a runtime properly for awhile there. :-) Jan

All I can say is WOW!!! All of your content is just gorgeous!!! I''ve been forever looking for period stuff (my website and most of my online persona''s are Old fashioned woman or OFW for short) and now I have found such a plethora of content!!! (btw, as a historian, you should appreciate my other online persona Lady Tash, after Tashlultum, Sargon''s wife)
Anyway, more …

Hey, Mini! Great to meet a fellow historian. Are you an artist, too? Would love to see some of your works! :-) Thanks for the comment, Jan.

P.S. Hope I answered everyone and again, I apologize for the delay.

Cont: Andro, if you want to do this, let's see...well, to learn modeling, I'd pick up an old copy of C4D and a how-to book, if I were you. I learned to model in C4D. Easier than Lightwave. Then to learn to conform clothes, come to DAZ!!! :-) We put a tutorial up in the Freezipository. Jan

Thanks, Robinski and Maki. :-) Andro, I google for Victorian images or pick up Dover reference books in bookstores. Dover is a REALLY good place to get reference material. :-) As for doing this -- modeling clothes -- no templates although I do use OKCRandy's V4Development Kit sometimes, especially for shoes. You have to learn to 3D model then make your models move in Poser. :-)

You're welcome, ironwolf. :-) Faydre, I use Lightwave to model in and Poser to create the MATS. :-) I tried other programs but I've stuck with Lightwave and Poser. But I recently discovered DS3A and fell in love with it so now I'm using it, in addition to Poser. :-) But Lightwave is my modeling tool. Jan

Hey, labrat. I did take a break for awhile. I think that was during the holidays when things were so hectic. Then I got in a wreck and my daughter stayed with us and it was chaos. But I'm back now! :-) Thanks for commenting. Jan

Wayii, my goodness! Now, I don't deserve all that and you know it. :-) Still, it sounds awful good though, don't it? :-)))) You're the queen of grunge/steampunk texturing so...that makes us...you're a bit better than I am, I think. :-) Luv ya! Jan
Jan (14 years ago)Inappropriate?
Thanks, lazyspark. :-) I'll do that when I get a minute to breathe! ;-)
Jan (14 years ago)Inappropriate?
Thank you, SunshineGirl :-) I'm so glad you like what I do. As long as you all like it, I'll keep doing it as long as I can. ;-) Jan

Hi Jan,
I am a costume designer for the theater.
Can you suggest where I look to learn to create clothing. Is it done within Poser, are there templates, any direction in where to look for tutorials would be greatly appreciated. And thanks so much for sharing your creations.

Faydre (15 years ago)Inappropriate?
These are wonderful! Thank you.
I have to ask what program do you use to make the clothing objects?
IronWolf (15 years ago)Inappropriate?
Thank you for the "toys". They are some really beautiful works.
labrat (15 years ago)Inappropriate?
Jan, where have you been? Are you busy creating or getting ideas? I miss you and your creations, and I hope you have not stopped creating for those of us who cannot do anything like you do.
Wayii (15 years ago)Inappropriate?
Jan, you truly are the queen of historic romance novel dresses. =^_^= The community is far richer since you've come along.
lazyspark (15 years ago)Inappropriate?
You have some beautiful gowns and I thank you for sharing them. I belong to a group which is helpful to all who enter and does have some modelers and a lot of beginners you may wish to check it out if you have any trouble tell Deni that lazyspark invited you.
